Investing in sustainable practices is one of the things we do at Macro Properties to reduce our environmental footprint.
Our commitment in energy and environmental management helped us achieve BOMA Best Silver certification for two properties in Saskatoon — The Birks Building and The CIBC Building.
Located in the heart of downtown Saskatoon, The Birks Building is a mixture of retail and office tenants. At 33,541 square feet, it is one of the city's premier heritage buildings.
Our CIBC high-rise building is one of the tallest landmarks in downtown Saskatoon and overlooks the city's river and downtown core.
Achieving Industry Standards
Launched by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Canada, BOMA Best is a national green building certification program to address an industry need for standards for energy and environmental performance.
To be considered for the Certification, The Birks Building and The CIBC Building had to demonstrate exemplary performance in the following areas: energy, water, air, comfort, health and wellness, custodial, purchasing, waste, site, and stakeholder engagement.
Our buildings also underwent an on-site verification to ensure the validity of the information we provided and evaluate the implementation of our environmental management practices.
We are excited to share this news with our tenants. We all have a role to play in protecting the environment.
